Skateboard Deck |
 |
When selecting a deck you should consider the material and the size.
Material:
Most skateboard decks are made of 7 ply maple wood. Blind and Darkstar have 9 ply skateboards. These are going to be stronger, thicker and heavier. Element makes a Fiberlight skateboard which is a fiberglass strip inside down the length of the board. This makes the board lighter. Zero Girl & Toy Machine make 7 ply skateboards that are a little more flat, which tend to last longer.
